Staying at a healthy weight is important because obesity, or weighing 20 percent more than your recommended weight, decrease your immune strength considerably. One way to find out your current weight healthy is to calculate your body mass index (BMI).

Maintaining a healthy weight is a significant health benefit. For emotional health, a healthy weight feels good and boosts self-esteem. A healthy weight during childhood offers protection for the long term: protecting them from adult obesity and diabetes, and helping blood cholesterol level stay at healthy levels.

Another benefit of a healthy weight include a healthier heart, improved lung capacity, clearer skin, good muscle tone, healthy teeth, better sleep patterns, a sense of well-being, improved self-esteem and more energy.

Me and hubby were moderately obese 3 months ago. That's why we decided to exercise. We enrolled in the same gym together. Now we are slowly gaining our individual ideal weight and it really feels great.
