Eat a variety of different foods ever day
It is important to eat a variety of foods to ensure taking a wide variety of nutrients. Eating and varying many of the whole foods will assure a proper amount of nutrients without excesses of potentially harmful levels of sugars, fats, or even protein.

Drink at least six to eight glasses of water each day
Two-thirds of the human body is water, yet water is our most neglected nutrient. Generally, you need to replace two to three quarts of water a day to meet your body's requirements.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
Consume five or more servings of fruit and vegetables daily. Eating plenty of vegetables and fruits is very important to good health. Dietary patterns characterized by a high intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are associated with a variety of health benefits including a lower risk of developing heart disease, stroke, hypertension, and certain cancers.

Eat the right amount to be a healthy weight
People are encouraged not to over eat, because of the risk of becoming obese. If you are not sure what an optimum healthy weight would be for you, consult your doctor
