The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) considers safety and health training vital to every workplace including construction site. A construction site is a dangerous place. It is very easy for accidents to happen in construction work. Construction accidents are largely caused by carelessness of workmen. Accidents not only cause human loss but also add to the cost of construction, cause delay in the construction period, of material and equipment and create disputes.

The OSHA regulations contain detailed construction standards that contractors and subcontractors must comply with during construction operations. Each construction employer on a project must have a written safety program, and ensure all workers have received proper training.

The basic safety courses for general construction safety and health are the OSHA 10-hour and OSHA 30-hour courses. Today, OSHA 30 online training are available for construction workers. Training courses can educate employees and employers in the recognition, avoidance, and prevention of unsafe and unhealthful working conditions. With a good training, construction accident can be reduced.
